The Virginia Beach Sheriff’s and Police Department along with the City of Virginia Beach invited Law Enforcement agencies in the United States to send their most fit officers to compete in the 2013 Eastern Lawfit Challenge.
This three-day event included four-person teams, pairs, and individual competitors. The challenge consisted of a series of six fitness and job related competitive events including the One Repetition Bench Press, One Minute Timed Sit-Up Test, 1.5 mile run and a 200 yard Suspect Pursuit Agility Course (with work performance obstacles)
A high level of fitness can be the key to an officer’s survival. With this in mind the National Center for Public Safety Fitness has established the LawFit Challenge to recognize those Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement officers who have proven that they are Fit to Serve.
