Produced a show that you are anxious to get seen on television?

The Cox Creative Services Virginia network of television stations is currently accepting pitches for fully-produced programs to air on our channels across Virginia. With presence in Hampton Roads, Fairfax County, Fredericksburg and Roanoke, Virginia, we are searching for shows that will be of interest to the local community. Whether your show is specific to one of these areas or appropriate for all or some of them, we’d like to hear about it!

Please be aware, we are NOT public access. We are a network of local TV stations that produce professional, or semi-professional, content for the communities which we serve, and provide a vehicle for local producers to showcase their programs, so long as they fit within our production and programming guidelines.

So if you have a show that you feel would be a good fit with our current programming, we are thrilled to have you pitch it to us! Really want to be on TV but don’t have a show in mind? Need suggestions? We’re happy to brainstorm some ideas that we feel would be great fits!

Here are the steps to take in a nutshell:
– Send us an email with a synopsis of the show, how many episodes you envision producing and what time slot you would be most interested in. If you have links to the show online, please include those in your email so that we can take a look at the production value of the show.
– Once we receive that email, someone from our programming staff will reach out to get more information if needed, or to request a pilot for the show.
– Upon approval of the pilot, the series would then be green-lit, and details would then be hashed out between the producer of the show and the management of the station, including time slots, rights agreements, etc.

We understand that every single project is unique, so the steps may vary for each individual project, as could the parameters of our agreements. But the bottom line is….if you have a great show that would benefit the community in some great way, we want to see it and possibly air it on our channels!

PROGRAMMING GUIDELINES

As a local community Public Affairs channel, we take great pride in being an outlet that is appropriate for ALL AUDIENCES at least 90% of the time. As such, we have strict programming guidelines that all third party producers must adhere to. Please ensure that your program complies with the below guidelines upon submission. Cox Communications reserves the right not to air any program that does not adhere to these guidelines.

1.)    Absolutely no nudity of any kind is allowed for any reason, artistic or otherwise.

2.)    No foul language of the sort outlawed on broadcast television or radio

3.)    No depiction of drug use

4.)    Adult situations must be moderated carefully, and be limited to shows airing during evening time slots only.

Sorry….no shows promoting a particular product/service will be accepted. We have lots of paid programming slots available that we’d be happy to speak to you about if you have one of those.
